Each presentation is based on the music from the Gold-Award winning CD, which the Parents’ Choice Foundation called “Terrific”. All full shows are about 45 minutes in length and may include a Lesson Plan for classroom presentation.
A 5-person musical show based on songs from the Gold-Award winning CD. Five student-aged performers are “in concert” with live vocals and a tightly choreographed set. A student MC briefly describes the multiple musical segments of the show whose topics include: conflict resolution, emotional intelligence and bully-proofing. This show is especially appropriate for grades 2-10. Recommended audience size: 250-350.
“MDYUC Festival”
MDYUC has been thrilling crowds throughout Metro Detroit since 2002 with an exciting live musical presentation that includes live vocals and a tightly choreographed set at festivals, parades, school assemblies, non-profit meetings and more. This show features a cross section of youth that demonstrates no barriers when it comes to gender, age, background and nationalities. The musical topics cover conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, bully-proofing and more. Up to 20 performers are a part of this exciting set which is appropriate for all ages. Recommended audience size: depends on venue, from less than 50 to unlimited.
COMING SOON: “The Lyrics Moved In”
A 3-person musical-play that demonstrates critical thinking in action. Performed by young adults, the script demonstrates the power of one person that chooses to make a difference to their peers and community. Topics that include conflict resolution, emotional intelligence and bully-proofing are interwoven into the script that is especially appropriate for grades 3-10. Recommended audience size: no more than 300.
In Jan. 2007, Youth Under Construction performed a live assembly for the Middle School in Manchester, MI. Here are the results of that effort:
INTRODUCING: The Youth Under Construction "Lyric Power Stage One" Video This optional video curriculum program contains transformational messaging using the award winning music CD and members dedicated to spreading positivity for youth since 1993. About 8 min. in length, the DVD comes with a Teacher Guide and creates the opportunity for teachers to dialog with students about a variety of subjects, including:
- Literacy
- Academic Achievement
- Positive Behavior
- Resources for youth
Near the end of the video, the young narrator encourages the students to "talk to your teacher about how you can be your very best," opening the lines of communication to discuss resources and opportunities that students should be aware of and can take advantage of. This might include: "Homework Help", what to do if depressed or bullied, how to report inappropriate activity and many more relevant youth-related topics. WATCH IT HERE:
